# [Five takeaways from the Intergeo CDSE User Summit](https://www.earthpulse.ai/resources/five-takeaways-from-the-intergeo-cdse-user-summit)

Our Product Manager, Fran Martín Rivas, attended the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) User Summit at [Intergeo](https://dvw.de/intergeo/en). His main takeaway is simple. The Earth observation (EO) sector is moving from access to satellite data towards easier use, interoperability and real applications.

## Fran's five key takeaways

##### 1. CDSE is becoming an ecosystem

CDSE started as a place to access Copernicus data. Now it is adding third-party datasets from companies such as OroraTech and Constellr. Public Copernicus data and commercial new-space data are starting to sit side by side.

##### 2. The best demos made EO tangible

The strongest demos were not the most technical ones. EO2GO brought EO insights to a mobile app and even a smartwatch, and people reacted strongly. The lesson is clear. EO is easier to understand when the insight appears where the user needs it, not in another satellite layer or specialist dashboard.

##### 3. The data infrastructure is changing

Work on EOPF and Sentinel data in Zarr gets less attention, but it is important. Cloud-native formats and faster data access make large-scale and time-series processing easier.

##### 4. AI assistants are now part of the EO experience

Observia inside CDSE and VITO's OpenEOAgent show that users can already talk to EO platforms in natural language. Soon every platform will have a chatbot. What will matter is what the assistant can do. It needs to understand a business problem, bring together the right data and analytics, and turn the result into a useful decision.

##### 5. The ecosystem is becoming more vertically integrated

OroraTech is a good example. It offers satellites, proprietary data, a platform and end-user solutions. At the same time, CDSE is bringing these new providers together. The market is becoming richer, and also more competitive. Access to good EO data will not be enough to stand out. The difference will come from combining sources, models and domain knowledge, and turning them into operational decisions.

## The bigger picture for Earthpulse

Satellite data is becoming easier to access and more of a commodity. The next competitive layer is making that data usable, integrated and actionable. This is where we see the strongest opportunity for [SPAI](https://www.earthpulse.ai/products/spai) and the [Pulse](https://www.earthpulse.ai/solutions/pulses) approach.
