The challenge

Water infrastructure leaks waste critical resources, increase operational costs, and can escalate into disruptive failures.

As networks age and expand, identifying hidden vulnerabilities across vast underground pipelines becomes increasingly complex. Traditional leak detection — from physical inspections to customer complaints — is reactive, localised, and inefficient. Smaller leaks can persist undetected for long periods, while deterioration remains invisible until rupture.

At the same time, water quality monitoring often relies on sparse sampling points and fixed sensors, providing limited spatial coverage and delayed visibility of emerging risks. Without continuous, system-wide intelligence, utilities struggle to prioritise investigations, prevent losses, and maintain consistent oversight across large, distributed networks.

Our solution

The Water Management Pulse delivers continuous, system-wide intelligence across both pipeline integrity and water quality.

Using satellite-based soil moisture analysis, terrain modelling, and infrastructure proximity analytics, the system detects persistent moisture anomalies near buried pipelines and identifies leak-risk hotspots. Machine learning models rank network segments by probability of failure, incorporating historical patterns and environmental conditions.

At the same time, we can help track key quality indicators through an intuitive dashboard, enabling teams to monitor anomalies, configure thresholds, and generate evidence for compliance and reporting.

Outputs are delivered via the SPAI platform, exportable reports, or API integration — enabling proactive intervention, regulatory transparency, and data-driven resource allocation across the network.
